    Auckland University Fibre Upgrade (5,500 CAT6 Data Outlets)

    OCL were successful winning the data cabling project for Auckland University School of Medicine.

    This project was for duration of 4 years where we worked closely with the construction company – Fletcher Construction.  The project involved the gutting the original buildings (3 x 7 story buildings) and refurbishment of these buildings along with the construction of two new buildings onsite. In total, OCL installed 5,500 CAT6 data outlets, over 26 x HUB Rooms and included tie copper and fibre cables and including a disaster recovery options for the total campus.All outlets tie cables were tested and labelled to the Universities requirements and the project was signed off by the product manufacturer who gave the client a 25 year warranty.

    OCL succeeded in securing the contract with Fletcher Construction to complete the refurbishment and new building complex for the Science Block at Auckland University. This project was completed over a three year time frame and required OCL to ensure other parts of Auckland University’s data and voice network continued to run.  This was due to a large quantity of cable run through this construction site. OCL install a total of 3,500 CAT6 data outlets on this site.  OCL provided a 25 year maintenance warranty on the product and workmanship.

    Auckland Uni Fibre upgrade

    OCL designed and install over 7kms of fibre network throughout the Auckland University Tamaki Campus.  This included installation of ducts and manholes as well as hauling and termination of over 1,000 ends before handing over to the University. OCL is a preferred contractor to Auckland University.  OCL complete a large variety of work to the university from small miscellaneous jobs to large projects. These large projects include the following:

    Each installation is inspected and signed-off by an independent consultant ensure MOE standards are met and exceed.

    Auckland University School of Medicine: This project was over a four year time frame and include the installation of over 5,500 CAT6 Data Outlets, backbone copper and fibre cabling, construction of HUB Rooms and final acceptance testing for 4 x seven story buildings.  These buildings include new and refurbished buildings on this campus site.

    Tamaki Campus: OCL completed the supply and installation of over 7klms of duct and fibre hauling on this site to interlink all buildings.  This include over 1,000 ends of fibre termination, testing and warranty of the solution.

    Science Block Rebuild: OCL were contracted to complete all installation of over 3,500 CAT6 data outlets in the refurbishment of the Science Block.  This project was over 3 years and included the redirection of services prior to the start of the project to ensure there was no disruption to the existing campus.  OCL also supplied and installed a massive UPS to run this building
